Aposs recently produced a series of student video blogs for Winstanley College. We cut them all all together to produce a short web advert, the full blogs can also be viewed below.
The Client.
Winstanley College is amongst the top sixth form colleges in the country. It's based just outside Wigan, it's catchment ranges from Wigan, Bolton, Warrington and St Helens.
The Brief.
To create a promotional video to convey the personality of the students at the college.
The Solution.
After meeting with the client, we felt this brief need a slightly different method of approach. The aim of the project was to show personality and not necessarily the facilities or it's academic achievements, the vast majority of people already associate the college with it's high pass rates. The purpose of the video project was to counteract the notion that the college is solely focused on the grades. Each student was given a personal video camer to document their day Winstanley, this was a great way to capture (or give the impression!) that we were capturing reality. This reality was then combined with a 'video blog', seemingly direct from the student. This project proved extremely interesting for us because we had the ability to control situations, allowing us to blair the lines between real events and scripted ones.
What the client said.
" Working with Aposs has been such a positive experience. Very importantly, they listen carefully first then add really inspiring creativity. They back this up with practical, realistic timescales and they've delivered a professional product on time and within budget. We look forward to working with them again. "
